What we collect

Checking a name is anonymous. There is no sign-up, and we keep no record of who searched for what.

If you give us your email address, to sign in or to be told when a name you are watching changes, we store it with the names you asked us to watch and use it for nothing else. It is never sold and never passed on. Ask us and we delete it.

Cookies and ads

Ads pay for the free checks. Our advertising partners may set cookies and read device identifiers to choose and measure the ads you see. The consent banner asks before any of that is set, names the companies involved, and can be reopened at any time to change your answer. Ads here are served by Mediavine.

The only other cookies are the one that keeps you signed in if you have an account, a security cookie, and analytics.

Some links to domain registrars are affiliate links, which earn us a commission if you register a name after following one. We pass no personal data to them.

The companies that host the site, serve the ads, run the analytics and send our email may process data outside the UK and EEA, under standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to withdraw your consent, by emailing contact@account.name. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to the data protection authority where you live.
